Mike’s welding helmet cover…

Easy pease and will save a $200+ helmet from getting the glass all scratched up. At least in the traveling to school and back. I also made a small pouch for his safety glasses.

Now it’s onward and upwards to the lined tote made from this…

100_4394

Someone paid $3.30 for it, gave it to me, it’s not my favorite so I’ll make it into something else. I’ll show you later on.

Take care and have a blessed afternoon.

Promised pictures…

Except I don’t think they show all the beauty they are but you get an idea. While Brenda and I were at the Little Falls Craft Show in August I saw quit a few of these types of scarves for sale. Now not one was the same and mine are even like the ones I saw but the idea is there, the beauty is there and I think that someone somewhere will like these. I didn’t make mine as long as some because they’d get caught in everything, not sure if that was a great idea or not but we’ll see. I looked these up on etsy (and though not quite the same they sell from $20-40.00 a piece. I’m going to sell mine for $7.00-10.00 each because I was able to get all the supplies at our local craft shop that is going out of business and had some great deals. I made two of each, blue, purple and multi. Each is a bit different with different type beads on them. Some have the beads in a strand going length wise and some have them around the knot. Do you like them? Think they’ll sell? I sure hope so because whatever I sell at this craft show will be the amount of money that I can spend at Christmas for the family. So without any more words, here are the pictures….

Now today I need to make a cover for Mike’s welding helmet so he can take it to and from school. We got him an auto darken helmet for his graduation present which he can now put into go use at school. Then I’m going to take a denim jumper and make it into a tote. I’m going to line it I think and will share that one when I get it done.

Take care and have a blessed day.

And then daddy and I replaced two light fixtures we picked up at the Reuse It Store. One on the landing and one downstairs in the hallway.

We started at 9:00 this morning and I just got home. So a long but productive day and they so appreciated it. Daddy gave me lots of hugs and kisses.

I have a craft project I finished up last night to share with you but I have to take some pictures so will wait for tomorrow and hope for brighter weather. Not suppose to be but I can hope. :o)

Take care my friends and have a blessed evening.

Pumpkins and daycare….

                100_4331

100_4336 100_4335

              100_4339

So that was what we did Friday during MEA vacation along with this…

              100_4343

I did it different this year. I cleaned the pumpkin seeds and then fried them for about 20 minutes in about a cup of oil with garlic salt, seasoned salt, seasoned pepper and just a touch of hot peppers. Drain on a napkin and then I put them in a 400* oven for 20 minutes to dry out and crisp up a bit more. They are the best we’ve ever had and also, I used a cup of oil and got but 2 Tlb less of a cup of oil so not bad in the fattening part.

So that’s that for not guys. Mike was home yesterday and starts school this evening. I followed him around yesterday helping him do a few things he wanted to get done and then we watched a movie, “How to Train Your Dragon” (now that was a cute movie). I think I’m having a few issues with Mike doing this, I’m a bit depressed and ready to cry but I know it’s just part of the growing up and I don’t want him to feel funny about it all so I’ll just keep my mouth and tear ducts closed and just enjoy the time with him. I know it’s just getting closer to “that” time, time to move on, grow up and spread his wings. I can’t wait really, but yesterday and today…I’m ready to have that little boy back.

Take care my friends and have a blessed day.

My daddy’s program…

GFP

Saturday I took my mama, Mike and Brenda to my daddy’s program. He sings in the Geritol Frolics. It is a singing, dancing, funny program with lots of wonderful music. This years theme was Disney. The first part of their program is old time music, 2nd part is the theme and then they end with religious and patriotic. It is the most amazing 2 1/2 hours ever.

GF Crew

My daddy is the top row, 5th in on the right. The average age is 73 for this show. The oldest this year was 89. Can you imagine practicing for 2 months, 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week and when it gets to be the week before 6 days a week, 4 hours a day. I’m not sure I could even keep up with all that these guys/gals do.

GF

My daddy played Bashful in the Disney Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. There’s him on the top picture, 3 one in on the left. Can I tell you guys how proud I am of my daddy for doing this. He has the most beautiful voice for singing, the most wonderful face for acting. Daddy made a terrific Bashful. He also sang other songs too like “Puttin’ on the Ritz”, “Whistle While you Work”, “It’s a Small World”, “Gee, I Wish I Was Back in the Army”, “Old Dan Tucker”, “Railroad”, It’s In the Book”, “Little Wheel a ‘turnin”, “Angels Carry Me Home”, “Fly Away Medley”, “Peace Song”, “United We Stand”, “Strike Up the Band” and their curtain call song “You’re As Young As You Act, You’re As Young As You Feel”.

We aren’t allowed to take pictures during the show at all. I wish I could but those are the rules. So I don’t bring my camera but I did have my camera phone to take this shot when all was said and done.

1023102137a

If you ever get to see a program like this, go…cuz I promise you will never ever regret it. It is just amazing. Really it is.

Daddy, I love you and I am so very proud of all that you do. Thank you for being my daddy. Thank you for everything.

Now everyone have a great and blessed day today. Thank you for letting me sharing this with you.

daycare…

1021101035a

Today while I was at the doctors office with my mama, Brenda stayed with my kids. The got to go for a walk with her and this is a picture she took of them. I love it so had to share it with you. While the kids were walking Brenda let them pick up special sticks. This afternoon after nap time I helped them make them into things the imagined. Rachel has a “bow and arrow” and Jon has a “slingshot”. Both of them were so happy to see their ideas work.

Abby has a walking stick she’s working on. Tonight we painted it tomorrow she plans on wrapping it with yarn.

Tomorrow we are going to carve our pumpkins and then roast the seeds. A trip to see great grandma and then ….well who knows, just more fun.

Take care my friends and have a great TFIG!!!

                       100_4307

I had so much fun watching these two shoot on Sunday. I had a headache and I didn’t want to shoot but I got to watch and take pictures plus I was the go-to-person when they needed a new target. I have got to tell you, seeing Mike learning from his dad, able to do lots with his dad and even at times challenge his dad, it is just amazing. I love it, I love them.

That’s it folks. I’m making lasagna in a crock pot today, new recipe…if it turns out as good as the recipe says, I’ll share. I’m also making another batch of apple sauce. Mike wants apple sauce muffins again and since I do have daycare tonight that would good good with the lasagna so his wish might just happen. First the apple sauce.

Take care and have a blessed afternoon.

Now this is cool…

The people at CSN have offered all my followers a chance to win a $35.00 gift code to be use anywhere on anything in their 200 stores. I have had a great time checking out some of the goodies they have and I’ve been thinking of getting a new sewing stool so I checked out their barstools and I found this one that I’d love to use the gift code on.

Winsome High Back L-Shape Airlift Bar Stool

Winsome High Back L-Shape Airlift Bar Stool

Now you wouldn’t have to pick something like this there are tons and tons of things to look at. Anything from Health and Fitness to Pets and Kids and more.

Since this is my give away I get to set the rules and since I hate give aways that ask a person to twitter this, face book that or tons of other rules I just have two. Visit the CSN 200 stores and give me an idea just what tickles you pink and either follow me if you don’t already or tell me you do. Hey, if you don’t have a blog, that’s okay too, just leave me your e-mail address and that will count as long as you go and check out CSN and tell me what you’d like. Also please leave me an e-mail address if it’s not in your profile otherwise I can’t get a hold of you. This give away will run until Halloween, October 31st. Oh one more thing, you have to live in the USA or Canada because CSN only ships to these places.

So have fun, enter and I hope you win.

Take care and God Bless!!!
