My daddy’s program…

GFP

Saturday I took my mama, Mike and Brenda to my daddy’s program. He sings in the Geritol Frolics. It is a singing, dancing, funny program with lots of wonderful music. This years theme was Disney. The first part of their program is old time music, 2nd part is the theme and then they end with religious and patriotic. It is the most amazing 2 1/2 hours ever.

GF Crew

My daddy is the top row, 5th in on the right. The average age is 73 for this show. The oldest this year was 89. Can you imagine practicing for 2 months, 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week and when it gets to be the week before 6 days a week, 4 hours a day. I’m not sure I could even keep up with all that these guys/gals do.

GF

My daddy played Bashful in the Disney Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. There’s him on the top picture, 3 one in on the left. Can I tell you guys how proud I am of my daddy for doing this. He has the most beautiful voice for singing, the most wonderful face for acting. Daddy made a terrific Bashful. He also sang other songs too like “Puttin’ on the Ritz”, “Whistle While you Work”, “It’s a Small World”, “Gee, I Wish I Was Back in the Army”, “Old Dan Tucker”, “Railroad”, It’s In the Book”, “Little Wheel a ‘turnin”, “Angels Carry Me Home”, “Fly Away Medley”, “Peace Song”, “United We Stand”, “Strike Up the Band” and their curtain call song “You’re As Young As You Act, You’re As Young As You Feel”.

We aren’t allowed to take pictures during the show at all. I wish I could but those are the rules. So I don’t bring my camera but I did have my camera phone to take this shot when all was said and done.

If you ever get to see a program like this, go…cuz I promise you will never ever regret it. It is just amazing. Really it is.

Daddy, I love you and I am so very proud of all that you do. Thank you for being my daddy. Thank you for everything.

Now everyone have a great and blessed day today. Thank you for letting me sharing this with you.

How neat! I'll have to check and see if there's anything like this in the area I live. I'd love to go see it!

He looks so good there! I'm taken aback by all that these people do. I really am. I can see why you feel special to be his daughter. :)

This is so adorable!! What a great way to spend an evening with the generations of family!!
My son that passed away was a ballroom dancer. My grandmother went a few times to see his performances. He would take her by the hands (she was in a wheelchair) and dance her around the floor! She was thrilled to have him do that with her!! So was I!!
