Pumpkins and daycare….

So that was what we did Friday during MEA vacation along with this…

I did it different this year. I cleaned the pumpkin seeds and then fried them for about 20 minutes in about a cup of oil with garlic salt, seasoned salt, seasoned pepper and just a touch of hot peppers. Drain on a napkin and then I put them in a 400* oven for 20 minutes to dry out and crisp up a bit more. They are the best we’ve ever had and also, I used a cup of oil and got but 2 Tlb less of a cup of oil so not bad in the fattening part.

So that’s that for not guys. Mike was home yesterday and starts school this evening. I followed him around yesterday helping him do a few things he wanted to get done and then we watched a movie, “How to Train Your Dragon” (now that was a cute movie). I think I’m having a few issues with Mike doing this, I’m a bit depressed and ready to cry but I know it’s just part of the growing up and I don’t want him to feel funny about it all so I’ll just keep my mouth and tear ducts closed and just enjoy the time with him. I know it’s just getting closer to “that” time, time to move on, grow up and spread his wings. I can’t wait really, but yesterday and today…I’m ready to have that little boy back.

Take care my friends and have a blessed day.

Aww! I feel you. I get that. Ouch. Tight hug.

On a lighter note, I had no idea pumpkin seeds were ever eaten!! This is so different to me!

I can empathize with the quiet you are experiencing...it's deafening isn't it? I talked with 3 of our girls today, but it's not the same as having them home. Hubs is sleeping in his chair and Tucker is asleep as well...it's almost like you and I live in parallel universes. LOL I'm glad you posted about the pumpkin seeds because mine have never turned out very good. Now I can try your way. Who knows? Maybe that will bring a daughter or two home for a bit? Oh, I don't know about a color for Wednesday. I believe there is a hop out there for a Wednesday color but I'm only doing Monday and Tuesday. My luck Wednesday would be purple anyway, and I do not like purple. Tomorrow I am posting about the positives and negatives about an empty nest...stay tuned!
