Nope, not the artsy farts stuff….wishful thinking though. I have been without kids, daycare kids, now for 8 days, means no income but it does mean I’ve gotten lots done but…means no income. For a family that live paycheck to paycheck, well that hurts. So not to be a downer because I refuse to go there. It’s time to be creative. I put up lots of veggies this fall, have plenty of meat from butchering so it’s time to put two and two together and see what I can make. I have to cook a meal for the store (for a group of 4 people) and am thinking corn chowder but haven’t a clue what’s in there so am looking for a recipe. Do you have a good one to share? What do you fix with that? I can make fresh bread. I also have chicken out, just the cut up stuff….sorta tired of just baking and hot dishes, need something new, got any ideas? I know there are tons of recipes out there but thought I’d ask you guys for something that you like and that we could try. Remember my life style change, it’s also extending to Jim and Mike. I think both can handle eating healthier too.
I’m going to work on our blankets for the Give a Day/Get a Day. We got the material and have done the trimming so will get started on them. Then I think I’ll get the bathroom closet cleaned out. The last one I’m going to do for a while. I have some knick knacks to donate the next time I’m in town and also have a bag of goodies for Kim and family. I’m pretty sure when I’m done with the closet there will be some little people clothes too. I seem to gather them each summer at garage sales and stick them in the closet for spares. It’s fun to let the kids go pick and choose but boy does it make for a mess in there too.
I was hoping to have something fun, creative to share or something with a bit of wit in it but I’m just a bit down so hard to do that. Sorry.
I wish you all a great day. I’m going to work on it. Take care and God Bless!!!

I know I could look back into your previous posts, but which blankets are you making for Give a Day Get a Day? I think we may be rebuilding a food shelter this weekend (if it's not too terribly cold) but we're not going to be in FL before Dec 15 so we might end up donating our tickets :)
What about a chicken chili with your veggies and your chicken? I am so in the mood for warm, hot food when it is 20 degrees outside. :)Hang in there sister!
I like the idea for a chicken chili - I seem to remember Rachel Ray has a recipe. You could get it at her site.
It all sounds great to me, Julie. You are so inspiring.
